Gradient X-Lite  Rucksack Harness combination

Gradient have commissioned Sup-Air to produce a new harness for Gradient pilots wanting to fly light. The X-Lite harness is based on the Sup-Air AltiRando Airbag but features Gradient styling as well as a handy extra pocket on the hip belt for easy access to keys or phone for example when on route to fly or after packing away. The harness is very adjustable and has simple but effective routing of the speed system. The seating position is semi-reclined striking a good balance between pilot comfort, streamlining and maintaining a position from which it is easy to make a safe landing.


A front mounted reserve parachute may be attached as an additional accessory and attachment points are provided on the shoulder webbing of the X-lite. But for pilots who chose to fly without a reserve, for dune or descent may be, the X-lite gives no extra weight penalty of an integral reserve container.
The X-lite folds in on its self to become a neat rucksack. With a typical Gradient glider, say a Montana 28 or an Avax XC2 26, there is still enough room for a helmet and other stuff. There are two hand balance straps to ease the load on the shoulders and an elastic chest strap to keep the main shoulder straps in place. Both shoulder straps and the waist belt are of course adjustable. On each side of the rucksack there is a large mesh pocket for odds and ends, a haul strap to help when moving the pack around and on the top are two webbing loops as attachment points for extras (sleeping mat for example on vol-bivi). Overall the rucksack with glider has the feel of a comfortable day sack.


The X-lite is an ideal companion to the Montana but is also suits the Avax XC2, Aspen2, Golden2 and Bright3 as well. Remember, the clever design team at Gradient by giving special attention to detail, make paragliders that generally weigh less than the equivalent from many other manufacturers. Adding an X-lite harness to a Gradient paraglider makes a very convenient package that gives you more fun by making getting to and from your flying-site less effort.
